Hi there,
I am very sorry to advise that the first of three major shut-downs for the tramway is scheduled for Monday May 20. This will run right through to mid-July as the road level in Halsey Street is being lowered and requires the tram track to be lifted.
Consequently our last day of operation will be Sunday 19 May and I will advise our return date once the project is underway and an end-date in July is in sight.
Please treat all tramway overhead wires as being "LIVE" even though the tram is not in operation!
Thank you to you all, for your support and patronage since the tramway opened in August 2011. The people of Auckland have proved to be very supportive of the Dockline Tram and like us, are fervently awaiting news of its extension, first to the Maritime Museum, then later on to Britomart.
Meantime, we sure look forward to being back in action, in July.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the tram ride and in particular all the drivers and conductors on the tram - we went around twice and had 4 staff in all that were all fantastic, witty and knowledgeable. All our students are tourism and hospitality students with a great interest in working in a variety of areas within the industry and we greatly appreciate good examples of customer service and positive visitor experiences." Sarah Hind - Crown Institute of Studies
