NO TRAM SERVICE until OCTOBER 2014...
Hi there friends,
Work is well underway on the second phase of major redevelopment for Wynyard Quarter. This impacts the streets traversed by the trams and will see sections of the tram track lifted to enable the work to proceed.
The circuit will look spectacular when complete with the new gardens!
Meantime - Please treat all tramway overhead wires as being "LIVE" even though the tram is not in operation!
With a beautiful March day, it is the perfect opportunity to run both trams out for a bit of sunshine and fresh air. The Halsey Street redevelopment is moving rapidly towards completion and the tram track is soon to be reinstated. The construction team will then transfer their efforts to the section of Daldy Street outside the Fish Market to complete the redevelopment here and connect the existing tram track with the new section in Daldy Linear Park. Then, we're back!! Albert Chan photo
New Year Greetings to you all. Below is an image from Albert Chan of the completed section of Daldy Linear Park, the new extension of Daldy Street in Wynyard Quarter. You can see the trams parked outside the shed, however we still cannot get access to the main line until the area of Daldy Street outside the Fishmarket is completed. This due to start in February 2014 with completion around late September.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the tram ride and in particular all the drivers and conductors on the tram - we went around twice and had 4 staff in all that were all fantastic, witty and knowledgeable. All our students are tourism and hospitality students with a great interest in working in a variety of areas within the industry and we greatly appreciate good examples of customer service and positive visitor experiences." Sarah Hind - Crown Institute of Studies
